What does #1 mean?
The strongest measured branded Search popularity in this Ireland sportsbook profile. Not automatically the best bookmaker for you.
Paddy Power leads this frozen edition with a GC Score of 100. The score does not fully evaluate odds, sports coverage, live betting, payments, customer service, promotions, safer-gambling tools or personal preferences.
Ireland sportsbook universe
Fixed-odds consumer sportsbooks are the ranking unit
The frozen v1 cohort contains 37 current Ireland-facing fixed-odds sportsbook and bookmaker consumer brands supported by current licensing-transition evidence and first-party product evidence. Betting exchanges, pool betting and sports spread-betting products are outside this fixed-odds cohort.
Consumer brand ≠ licence holder
Distinct sportsbook brands stay distinct
One operator can run more than one recognisably separate consumer brand. We rank the consumer sportsbook identity people search for, while avoiding double-counting aliases, broad product families or exchange activity as extra fixed-odds brands.
Bounded unresolved set
Three unresolved identities remain outside the ranking
Dabble, 32Red and The Track Bookmakers were not ranked because the bounded validation pass did not positively resolve a current Ireland-facing fixed-odds consumer product. Search absence was not treated as proof that they are out of market.
One comparable published signal
Search is complete; Web is diagnostic only
All 37 ranked brands have a numeric Ireland branded Search observation. Comparable local Web coverage is only 17/37, and the available global Web units mix local sportsbook domains, broad multi-product roots and product-mismatched roots. We therefore do not force Web into the published score.
How to compare betting sites after the ranking
GC Score measures popularity. These checks matter more for your own choice and do not add ranking points.
Licence and current domain
Check the current Irish regulatory position and the exact consumer domain before registering. Brands, licences and domains can change.
Odds and markets
A higher popularity rank does not mean better prices. Compare the sports, leagues, bet types and odds you actually use.
Live betting and tools
Cash Out, bet builders, live data and streaming availability vary by operator, event and account. Check current product details directly.
Payments and account rules
Review deposits, withdrawals, identity checks, limits, processing rules and terms before committing money.
Control over gambling
Limits, breaks and support matter more than a popularity rank. A high GC Score is never a reason to gamble more or more often.
How GC Score works for betting sites in Ireland
GC Score is a relative 0–100 popularity index. In the frozen Ireland v1 profile it uses one category-relevant, attributable signal for every ranked brand.
Measured monthly Search volume for one preselected query attributable to the specific sportsbook brand. A modifier is used only where genuine ambiguity requires it.
The same Search input type is available for all 37 eligible brands, so every public score uses the same formula rather than brand-by-brand reweighting.
Raw Search is transformed with log1p and then Min–Max normalised over the full 37-brand cohort. Exact equal scores use competition ranking, so tied brands share a rank and the next ordinal position is skipped.
Methodology details
Profile: IE-BETTING-GPI-v1.0. Search was measured 23 October 2026. The selected query is shown directly in each ranking row for attribution transparency.
Why not 50/50 Search + Web? The preferred local-Web profile failed the coverage gate because only 17/37 brands had a usable Ireland Web share in the common snapshot.
Why not use global Web instead? The available global units are not one structurally comparable concept across all brands: they include Ireland-specific sportsbook units, broad multi-product roots and product-mismatched casino/poker roots. A numeric value is not enough if it measures a different unit.
Robustness: Search-only versus diagnostic 80% Search / 20% global Web: Spearman 0.9900 and rank<=10 overlap 10/11. On the 17-brand local-Web-complete subset, Search versus diagnostic 50/50 local Search + local Web: Spearman 0.9583. Web is excluded from the published score because local coverage is only 17/37 and global Web units are not structurally comparable across the cohort.
Zero Search values: a GC Score of 0 is the floor of this frozen relative cohort after the provider observation and transformation. It is not proof of zero real-world demand, zero users or zero betting activity.
Independence: affiliate agreements, commissions and other commercial relationships do not alter the universe, query selection, score formula or ranking order.
Common questions about betting sites in Ireland
Which betting site is #1 in Ireland?+
Paddy Power is #1 in this frozen edition with a GC Score of 100. That means it has the strongest measured branded Search popularity in this cohort, not automatically the best odds or best bookmaker for everyone.
Why is this ranking Search-only?+
Local Web evidence was usable for only 17 of 37 brands, while global Web values were not structurally comparable across the whole cohort. Search was complete and attributable for all 37, so the published v1 profile uses the one signal that passes both coverage and comparability gates.
Why do some brands share the same rank?+
Exact equal GC Scores use competition ranking. For example, Betway and TonyBet share rank #10, so the next brand is #12 rather than #11.
Does GC Score show market share or number of bettors?+
No. GC Score is a relative popularity index derived from measured branded Search in Ireland. It is not a bettor count, active-user figure, revenue estimate, deposit volume or official market share.
Are all betting products in Ireland included?+
No. This profile is deliberately scoped to remote fixed-odds sportsbook and bookmaker consumer brands. Exchanges, pool-betting products and sports spread betting are different product categories and are not mixed into this cohort.
