Ranking order is not editorial preference
GC Score and ranking order follow the published methodology for that market and category. An editor cannot move a brand because it is a favourite, because a commercial partner requests it, or because a higher position would earn more revenue.
Evidence standards
For factual claims we prefer current primary sources: regulator and government material, operator terms and help pages, official product documentation, and directly attributable first-party information. Secondary sources can help with discovery or context, but they should not quietly replace a stronger source when one is available.
- Time-sensitive facts should be dated or rechecked.
- Marketing language should not be repeated as fact without qualification.
- Estimates should be described as estimates, not exact measurements.
- If a source is ambiguous or conflicts with stronger evidence, uncertainty should remain visible.
Reviews and product context
Our comparison notes focus on useful, verifiable differences rather than generic praise. We do not claim hands-on testing unless hands-on testing actually occurred. Where a point comes from source research rather than direct use, the wording should make that distinction clear.
Commercial relationships
Commercial relationships may affect whether Gambling Charts earns money from a link, but they must not affect ranking position, GC Score, eligibility or the substance of evidence-based criticism. See the Affiliate Disclosure for the commercial layer.
Corrections and material changes
Factual errors should be corrected when verified. Material methodology changes should be documented rather than silently changing what an existing score means. A surprising result is a reason to investigate data quality, not automatically a reason to change the formula.
Responsible presentation
Gambling content should not present gambling as a route to financial security, a solution to personal problems or something aimed at under-18s. Commercial gambling content must also comply with the advertising rules that apply to it.
